Cookie Policy

This page lists every cookie this website sets, what each one is for, how long it lasts, and how to stop it. We use analytics to understand which pages get read; we do not advertise, retarget or sell what it tells us.

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device so it can remember something between pages or visits. Some are needed for a site to function. Others measure how a site is used, which is what ours do.

2. The kinds we use

Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working. They do not identify you and they are not used to track you across other websites.

Analytics cookies tell us which pages are read, how visitors arrive and where they leave. We use Google Analytics for this. They are set when you visit the site, and the section below explains how to stop them if you would rather they were not.

Advertising and measurement cookies tell us whether an advert we ran brought someone here, and let us show follow-up adverts on Meta’s platforms. We use the Meta Pixel for this. These differ from the other two in an important way: they can be used to recognise your browser on other websites and apps that also use Meta’s tools.

3. The cookies we set

_ga: analytics, set by Google Analytics. Distinguishes one visitor from another so visits can be counted. It does not tell us who you are. Typically lasts up to two years.

_ga_7S6WEP3X6S and _ga_44S9S048R2: analytics, set by Google Analytics. Each maintains session state for one of the two Analytics properties this site reports to. Typically last up to two years.

_fbp: advertising and measurement, set by the Meta Pixel. Identifies a browser so a visit here can be matched to an advert or an audience on Meta’s platforms. Typically lasts around three months.

_fbc: advertising and measurement, set by the Meta Pixel when you arrive from a Meta advert. Records which advert you came from. Typically lasts around three months.

We do not currently set any other cookies. If that changes, this page changes with it.

4. What we do not do

We do not use the pixel to collect what you type. It is running Meta’s standard page-view event; we have not added events that report the contents of forms.

We do not sell what analytics tells us, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

We do not use analytics to identify individuals. It tells us that a page was read, not who read it.

5. How to stop these cookies

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for a specific site. In Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari this is under privacy or site settings, and blocking cookies for duara.dev stops these entirely.

Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when you close it.

For the Meta Pixel, your Meta account settings control how activity off Meta’s platforms is used to target adverts at you. That is under Accounts Centre, then your information and permissions. Blocking connect.facebook.net in the browser, which most tracker-blocking extensions do by default, stops it at this end.

Blocking these cookies changes nothing about how this website works for you. Nothing here depends on them.

6. Third-party cookies

Two third parties set cookies through this site: Google, through Google Analytics, and Meta, through the Meta Pixel. Each processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy, and neither is under our control once it reaches them. Fonts are served from Google Fonts, which does not set cookies.

7. More information

How we handle personal data generally, the lawful basis we rely on and the rights you have over it are covered in our Privacy Policy. Anything else about cookies on this site, write to contact@duara.dev.

A note on this document

This page describes how Duara Dev operates and is written to be understood rather than to be impenetrable. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace the service agreement covering your specific engagement: where the two differ, your agreement governs.
